MYELOMA ACTION MONTH IS A GLOBAL INITIATIVE THAT TAKES PLACE EVERY MARCH TO RAISE AWARNESS AND INSPIRE ACTIONS THAT POSITIVELY IMPACT THOSE LIVING WITH MYELOMA.

WHAT IS MYELOMA ACTION MONTH?

Myeloma Action Month is an annual global awareness campaign that takes place every March to raise awareness of multiple myeloma, a blood cancer that affects over 176,404 people yearly, worldwide.

Every March, the global myeloma community, including patients, care partners, healthcare providers, and supporters, unite, to share personal stories, inspire action, and raise awareness of this little-known blood cancer.

Through collaboration, advocacy, and education, Myeloma Action Month helps inform the public and empower individuals affected by myeloma. Together, we work toward better treatments, enhanced patient outcomes, and eventually, a cure.

THE HISTORY OF MYELOMA ACTION MONTH

In 2009, the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) declared March as Myeloma Awareness Month. The program later evolved into Myeloma Action Month, which emphasizes individual and collective actions that positively impact the myeloma community worldwide.

Each year, the initiative continues to grow. In 2025, Myeloma Action Month’s measurable reach was more than 53.6 million people across 52 countries.

MYELOMA ACTION MONTH 2026 THEME: #MORETHANMYELOMA

In 2026, we invite the world to demonstrate the spirit of #MoreThanMyeloma.

During March, major landmarks and oncology centers across the globe will light up in red.

We invite our Myeloma Action Month partners to show their support by lighting their corporate offices where possible.

Members of the myeloma community will also participate by illuminating their own homes, offices, and community spaces.

Red will serve as a global signal of unity, resilience, and awareness, honoring all people impacted by multiple myeloma.
